Return of UAMU Personnel Considering Legislative Changes: Procedure and Liability – discussion at the UBA Committee event
The UBA Committee on Military Law, Military Justice and Veterans' Rights Protection held an event on February 24 titled «Return of UAMU Personnel Considering Legislative Changes: Procedure and Liability».
The participants discussed the current aspects of returning to unauthorizedly abandoned military units (UAMUs), changes in legislation and liability for such actions. The speakers shared their practical experience and provided clarifications on the legal mechanisms for resolving such situations.
The event was moderated by Anastasiia Didenko, Deputy Head of the UBA Committee on Military Law, Military Justice and Veterans' Rights, Counsel at LCF Law Group.
The speakers were:
- Oleksandr Kukharuk, Prosecutor of the Department for Support of Public Prosecution in Court and Supervision over the Observance of Laws in the Execution of Court Decisions in Criminal Cases of the Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Eastern Region;
- Kateryna Anishchenko, Deputy Head of the UBA Committee on Military Law, Military Justice and Protection of Veterans' Rights, attorney at RIYAKO&PARTNERS;
- Volodymyr Romanchuk, associate at LCF Law Group, junior lieutenant in the reserve, Tactical Combat Casualty Care instructor.
The event helped to raise awareness of lawyers about the peculiarities of considering cases related to the return of combat casualty care and provided practical recommendations for effective law enforcement.
