The discussion “Legal and Technical Challenges for Unleashing Ukraine's Wind Energy Potential” was held in Kyiv
This Monday, December 11, the discussion "Legal and Technical Challenges for Unleashing Ukraine's Wind Energy Potential" was held. The event was organized by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Danish Energy Agency with the support of the Ukrainian Bar Association, namely the UBA Committee on Energy, Oil and Gas, and the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA).
The discussion was moderated by Ivan Bondarchuk, Chairman of the UBA Committee on Energy, Oil and Gas, counsel, head of energy and natural resources practice at LCF Law Group.
The event began with a speech by Yaroslav Demchenkov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, who addressed the participants online.
Jake Badger, wind energy expert at the Danish Technological University (DTU), presented a mid-term report including a preliminary feasibility study of offshore wind energy potential prepared by DTU within the framework of the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Partnership Program (UDEPP).
Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA), delivered a report "Wind power in Ukraine: current challenges and prospects. Concept of future wind deployment" (PRESENTATION).
Vilhelm Rothe, Legal Advisor at the Danish Energy Agency (DEA), also joined the discussion.
