Section of Legal Advisers of the Ukrainian Bar Association Discusses the Digitalization of Primary Documents
On April 23, 2025, the Section of Legal Advisers of the Ukrainian Bar Association held an online event on the topic “Digitalization of Primary Accounting Documents: Advantages and Barriers.” The event brought together representatives of the legal community, business, and the IT industry to discuss current issues related to the implementation of electronic document flow in Ukraine.
The participants focused on the legal and technical barriers to the digitalization of primary documents, as well as concerns regarding their legal validity. A significant portion of the discussion was devoted to the issue of “hybrid” document flow, particularly the duplication of processes and the presence of paper elements in digital chains. The speakers also analyzed the readiness of public institutions to process electronic goods and transport invoices and discussed the economic benefits of transitioning to e-invoicing.
The panel of speakers included leading experts from EDIN, such as Eduard Kishkovskyi, Director of the Integration Solutions and Service Support Department, Yevhen Trombola, Director of the Product Department, Nazar Karualnyi, Product Manager, and Stanislav Kashuba, Project Manager. In their presentations, they shared practical experience in digitalizing documents within the business environment, presented case studies of implementation, and answered participants’ questions regarding typical challenges in this field.
The event was moderated by Darya Stavyshenko (Dashenkova), member of the Board of the Section of Legal Advisers of the UBA and business partner for legal matters at MHP PJSC. The online meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere and demonstrated the high level of interest among the professional community in the topic of digital transformation of accounting in the legal sector.
As a result, the participants reached a common conclusion that transitioning to electronic documents is not only a technological necessity but also a strategic step towards enhancing transparency, efficiency, and competitiveness in business. At the same time, achieving full digitalization requires clear regulatory frameworks, agreed standards, and active collaboration between the public and private sectors.
