The UBA Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, and Human Rights Committee, in collaboration with the UBA Military Law, Military Justice, and Veterans’ Rights Committee, invites you to attend a roundtable discussion on the topic: «The Implementation of the Military Justice System in Ukraine: Pro et Contra» which will take place on November 22, 2024, in Kyiv.

Discussion topics:

• Ukraine’s path to the EU and NATO: harmonization of judicial systems and the feasibility of establishing a military justice structure in Ukraine;
• the military justice system: military police, military prosecutor’s office, military courts, and specialized legal assistance structures for servicemen: is there an alternative?
• national mechanisms for ensuring objective investigations and hearings of military and war crimes cases, and who will ensure the effectiveness of the Rome Statute;
• military legal relations and military service – does a lawyer need expertise in military law?
