Supreme Observer: A Modern Law Portal for the Legal Community
Supreme Observer is an online portal on modern law designed to help the legal community stay informed about key legal developments, analysis, and court practice.
Launched in 2023 by the Supreme Court of Ukraine, the portal was developed with the support of the EU Project Pravo-Justice and expert input from the OSCE.
Supreme Observer offers access to:
- Up-to-date news on the functioning of the judiciary;
- Digests and reviews of the case law of the Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR);
- Presentations by judges and a video archive of events involving judicial representatives;
- Exclusive interviews with judges and other members of the legal profession;
- Analytical and academic articles published in the “Author Columns” section, written by judges, scholars, and staff of the Supreme Court.
In addition to materials authored by judges, the portal is open to contributions from other professionals. Anyone with an analytical or academic article in the field of law may submit their work via the “Become an Author” section. After review by the editorial team of the Supreme Court, selected articles may be published on the portal. This allows the broader professional community to contribute to and engage in discussions on key legal topics at a high level.
Supreme Observer responds to the demand for a convenient, modern, and accessible platform that consolidates the most relevant legal content in one place.
The portal is a valuable resource for:
- All legal professionals — to quickly access court practice and relevant legal positions;
- Lawyers and prosecutors — for effective preparation for court proceedings;
- Judges — for sharing experience and systematising case law;
- Scholars and law students — for exploring the development of legal theories and doctrines.
With its user-friendly interface, up-to-date content, and the opportunity to contribute as an author, Supreme Observer is an indispensable tool for anyone who seeks to stay at the forefront of modern legal thought.
