Lawyering Peace podcast by PILPG: David Crane — featured in the first episode of the mini-series Prospects for Peace in Ukraine

Ukraine stands at a pivotal moment in its history. As Russia's full-scale aggression continues, Ukraine and its allies face the critical task of achieving a just and lasting peace. This requires addressing a series of complex issues that will arise during peace negotiations, while also navigating new challenges within an increasingly unstable global order.

These themes are explored in the mini-series Prospects for Peace in Ukraine, launched as part of the Lawyering Peace podcast series by the global pro bono law firm Public International Law and Policy Group (PILPG). Through in-depth discussions with Ukrainian and international experts in law, diplomacy, and peace negotiations, the series examines the opportunities and risks ahead, offering clear and reasoned analyses of the challenges and options for securing durable peace.

The first episode of the mini-series features Professor David Crane, a distinguished international lawyer, former Chief Prosecutor of the Special Court for Sierra Leone, founder of the Global Accountability Network, consultant on the creation of a Special Tribunal for Ukraine, member of the Supervisory Board of the UBA Human Rights Institute. In the conversation, he discusses potential ceasefire models, power diplomacy, and shifts in the global order.
