The Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) invites all interested persons to the presentation of the results of the implementation of the project "The trial monitoring in war crimes cases". The UBA implements the project ‘The trial monitoring in war crimes cases’ with the USAID Human Rights in Action Program, implemented by the Ukrainian Helsinki Union for Human Rights.

Format: offline (Hyatt Regency Kyiv, 5, Alla Tarasova Street, Kyiv) and online (Zoom)
Language of the event: Ukrainian | English (simultaneous translation will be provided)
Purpose of monitoring:
- Analysis of the new judicial practice regarding the consideration of war crimes by Ukrainian courts from February 24, 2022.
- Forming an idea of the compliance of judicial practice with international standards regarding the right to a fair trial.
- In the case of identifying any shortcomings, drawing the attention of the judicial community to them and developing proposals on possible ways to solve them.
The main methods by which the specified activity is carried out:
- Study of the provisions of international criminal and humanitarian law, human rights, and Ukrainian criminal procedural legislation to prepare the Monitoring Methodology; analysis of court decisions from the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
- Conducting training events for Project monitors to acquaint them with the Methodology.
- Attendance by monitors of court hearings.
- Conducting public and bilateral meetings, events, working discussions, etc. with national authorities.
