Presentation of the New York State Bar Association Chapter in Ukraine

Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA), jointly with the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) and with the support of the EU Project Pravo-Justice invite you to participate in an event dedicated to the presentation of a newly-established NYSBA Chapter in Ukraine. The Chapter was established on 21 December 2021 by the Executive Committee of NYSBA’s International Section. UBA served as a foundation for the Chapter, Anna Ogrenchuk, UBA President, was appointed Chair of the Chapter, and Ivan Horodyskyу, UBA Board Member, was appointed Vice-Chair.
The event will be held online on 11 February 2022, from 16:00-18:00 Kyiv time/9:00-11:00 NY time.

- What is NYSBA’s Women in Law Section?
- What are potential areas of cooperation between NYSBA and UBA?
All participants would have an opportunity to ask questions via Zoom.
Background information:
The New York State Bar Association was established in 1876 with the objective of cultivating the science of jurisprudence, promoting reform in the law, facilitating the administration of justice and elevating the standards of integrity, honor, professional skill and courtesy in the legal profession. NYSBA has a number of sections, including the International Section (NYSBA International), which is responsible for, inter alia, representing NYSBA’s interests internationally.
Ukrainian Bar Association is a non-governmental, non-profit organization which unites lawyers from all areas of the legal profession in Ukraine. Since its establishment in 2002, UBA’s goal is to promote adherence to the rule of law in Ukraine and development of the legal profession. To this end, UBA conducts legal research and analysis, monitors progress of implementation of various legislative acts and processes in the justice system and beyond, organizes conferences, round tables and other events aimed at discussion of legislation and practices in a given field, and advocates for sustainable development of the justice sector and for protection of rights of members of the profession.
