Women in the legal profession: join the IBA survey!
The Ukrainian Bar Association is once again joining an important international project aimed at studying gender inequality in the legal profession. The "50:50 by 2030" project, launched by the International Bar Association (IBA) in 2021, will run for nine years and aims to track the career development of women in the legal field and support their promotion and engagement.
The second phase of this project has recently begun, including a global survey targeted at female lawyers (as well as those who have left the profession in the last five years). We encourage all women in law, as well as those working in the field, to share their experiences by filling out the survey at the following link: https://forms.office.com/e/sDS9q8T5k1.
The survey aims to collect data on the experiences of female lawyers, including: obstacles to their professional activities, reasons for leaving the profession, evaluation of diversity initiatives and their effectiveness, the impact of menopause, and the effects of family caregiving responsibilities on women's careers.
We would greatly appreciate your participation in the survey. It is anonymous and available in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. Completing the survey will only take about 5 minutes.
The results of the research will be presented at the IBA Annual Conference in Toronto in November 2025, and recommendations will be made based on the feedback to further advance gender equality in the legal field.
Join this important research to support progress in the legal profession!
As a reminder, in October 2024, the IBA released a study on gender inequality in the global legal profession, with a focus on Ukraine. The report 50:50 by 2030: A longitudinal study into gender disparity in law — UKRAINE RESULTS REPORT was prepared for the IBA by the UBA. You can view the report at the following link.
