As we have entered the year 2024, we would like to remind you of the membership renewal and the associated dues for this year. Your contributions play a vital role in supporting a wide range of our initiatives, which include:

• Legal Ethics: We have developed and implemented a comprehensive Code of Ethics for Legal Business that serves as a guiding framework for legal professionals. By fostering integrity and cooperation, we strive to create a legal community trusted nationally and internationally.
• Tribunal Processes: The UBA advocates for establishing a Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine, promoting accountability and justice at an international scale. Through diplomatic engagement and legal expertise, we strive to bring attention to the necessity of such a tribunal to investigate crimes against Ukraine.
• Restoration of Justice: We are working to pursue accountability for the Russian aggressors, seeking legal avenues to ensure those responsible for crimes are held accountable. By advocating for justice, we aim to establish a legal framework that addresses the consequences of aggression and upholds principles of accountability and justice. 
• Trial Monitoring in War Crimes Cases: The UBA has launched the second stage of the monitoring of judicial proceedings and court decisions in cases of war crimes. The aim of this project is to analyze the new judicial practice in Ukraine related to war crimes cases, as well as the role of the prosecutor's office and the quality of protection of suspects, accused, and victims; to form an understanding of how such judicial practice complies with international standards, including human rights standards; in case of deficiencies, to draw attention of the judicial community to them and suggest possible ways to eliminate them.
• Free Legal Aid: We continue to provide affordable legal support to those affected by the war, ensuring that even those with limited resources have the opportunity to seek justice and protect their rights. By offering pro bono legal services, the UBA contributes to fostering a more equitable legal system and promoting the rule of law.
• Charitable Assistance to Lawyers Who Suffered from the War: This is a compassionate effort to support legal professionals affected by the war, offering financial assistance and resources to those who have faced hardship. By providing assistance to fellow lawyers, the UBA demonstrates solidarity within the legal community and addresses the unique challenges faced by lawyers in times of war. 
• Development of Legal Profession Standards in Ukraine: This initiative focuses on creating comprehensive standards that reflect the unique roles and responsibilities of legal professionals in the country. By contributing to the National Classification of Occupations, the UBA aims to ensure accurate representation and recognition of the legal profession within the broader professional community in Ukraine.

These efforts are crucial to creating a fair legal environment and upholding the rule of law in Ukraine, and your support is really important for us.
