On July 18-19, 2022, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Bar Association, and the EU project "Pravo-Justice" presented a report on the results of operational monitoring of legislation.

The purpose of the monitoring is to improve the legislation taking into account the challenges of the state of war. In the report, the authors made proposals for normative legislation acts in five areas:

• justice and judiciary;
• criminal justice;
• forensic expert activity;
• enforcement of judgments;
• bankruptcy.

Representatives of the legislative and judicial branches of government, representatives of private legal professions, and independent experts were involved in the consultation process within the framework of monitoring.

Inna Liniova, the UBA Executive Director, noted:

"The legislative monitoring of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, including operational monitoring, has two great advantages: it collects practical information on the application of regulatory and legal acts and provides for consultations with all stakeholders, including the professional community and civil society. Qualitative changes to the legislation must reflect the realities of practice and be adopted transparently and inclusively. We do hope that the recommendations of operational monitoring will be taken into account in the legislative process."
