International law firms are ending cooperation with Russia in connection with Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine
Law firms Linklaters, Norton Rose Fulbright, Allen&Overy, Debevoise&Plimpton are suspending cooperation with Russian clients due to Russia's military action against Ukraine. This was reported by Financial News.
Linklaters і Norton Rose Fulbright have both said they will close their Moscow offices in light of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Linklaters та Allen&Overy have also explicitly criticised Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
Ukrainian Bar Association provided its comments to Financial News on the situation in the legal market and on the unacceptability of the continued functioning of international law firms in the Russian Federation. “We firmly believe that continuing legal business with the country who openly and disparagingly commits war crimes and crimes against humanity in plain view of the world raises some serious concerns about legal ethics and commitment to the rule of law,” Financial News cites UBA.
