The Academy of European Law offers opportunities to Ukrainian lawyers

With the war still ongoing in Ukraine, the training of legal practitioners may not seem the top priority. Yet millions of Ukrainian refugees in EU Member States need to be able to exercise their rights. And the reconstruction of the country will require legal practitioners who are well-versed in the rule of law – all the more so since the prospect of EU membership for Ukraine has been put on the table.

For this reason, the Academy of European Law (ERA) is offering to help legal professionals from Ukraine to benefit from its training programmes:

  • Ukrainian lawyers, judges, prosecutors and other regulated legal practitioners will be able to participate for free in ERA’s forthcoming programmes on key topics such as asylum law, migration law and human rights. Upcoming events on asylum, migration and human rights: https://bit.ly/3LML8jN
  • Ukrainian practitioners will also be eligible to apply for ERA’s scholarship programme, which can cover up to the full costs of participation in any of ERA’s programmes. For more information on ERA’s scholarship programme: www.era.int/scholarships
