The UBA has drawn up a document called "Main Approaches towards Making Changes to the Ukrainian Constitution".
The document is prepared by initiative group consisting of UBA President Denys Bugai; UBA Board Member and Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Oleksandr Ilkov; UBA Board Member and Ukrainian Presidential Constitutional Commission Member Volodymyr Kravchuk; and other UBA Members, particularly Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Alona Shulima and Secretary of Research and Methodology Council at National Prosecution Academy of Ukraine Valerii Kravchuk.
The content of "Main Approaches towards Making Changes to the Ukrainian Constitution" document is based on the results of event series dedicated to the process of constitutional reform held by the UBA.
This year in April, the Ukrainian Bar Association organized a round table where the discussion on main organizational and conceptual aspects of constitutional reform began and a survey on topical issues of constitutional reform was held. Also, this year in June, the main approaches towards making changes to the Ukrainian Constitution in the scope of justice system and prosecution service were discussed at the meeting of UBA Committee on Constitutional Law & Human Rights.
Before Board's approval, the project of main approaches was provisionally brought up for UBA members discussion in order to get suggestions and annotations.
Also, earlier at June 15 2015, the UBA Committee on Constitutional Law & Human Rights has prepared suggestions on making changes to Chapter ХІІ "The Constitutional Court of Ukraine" which were submitted to the Constitutional Commission.
