KYIV - June 6, 2019. The first meeting of the new composition of the UBA Board under the leadership of Denys Bugay, newly elected President of the UBA, took place.
The Board members reviewed 11 issues in total. They discussed the agenda for 2019-2020 and the working formats. In addition, they distributed responsibilities in the key areas of activity and defined the procedure of the election campaign in the UBA branches to start on June 7.
The Board members approved the new composition of the UBA Commission on membership. It includes:
1. Iryna Pavlenko, First Chair Legal, lawyer;
2. Rodion Tesla, PJSC "Myronivsky Hliboproduct", Head of Department of international corporate communications;
3. Maksym Bugay, TNT Ukraine & Eastern Europe Associates (FedEx Corp.), Senior Legal Counsel.
The Board members approved the commission on elaborating changes to the UBA Charter. The Commission will suggest models for holding elections of the governing bodies of the Association, upon studying the experience of foreign and international organizations. Finally, they will propose a plan, discuss it with the regional branches of the Association and prepare comprehensive amendments to the Charter.
The UBA President has outlined the priorities for the next six months. Among others, he called for the reform of the electoral system through introducing changes to the Charter. He emphasized the need for development of regional offices and strengthening communication with the Association members. Denys Bugay also stressed the need to actively cooperate with young members of the community and develop leadership potential. Among the priorities for the next six months, the Association also faces the reform of the higher legal education, in particular, the wide expert discussion of the Concept proposed by the Ministry of Justice.
